October 20, 2008 - KICKING ROCKS Presented By: Scott Matolka
Matolka says , "A job search is
like any other treasure hunt: in order to find the treasure you've got to kick
over almost every rock available to see what's underneath. The size, color or
shape of the rock doesn't always predict what might be underneath it. A
comprehensive job search must include a persistent series of kicking rocks
found on the internet boards, in recruiter phone calls, and in networking
because you just never know what might be underneath."
Scott Matolka is a recent job
seeker who is now a gratefully employed supporter of the Hudson Job Search
organization. Beginning his sales career twenty years ago as a post-graduate,
he switched to marketing where he experienced career progression. He has been
in marketing for small, privately held companies to large multinational
corporations working in both consumer and business-to-business environments.
As a person who has endured eight
job changes in the past twenty years, Matolka is a veteran job seeker who can
offer attendees of this workshop practical experience on how to develop job
leads, determine the potential value of leads, andassess and pursue possibilities within a
company.
The services of Hudson Job Search are made possible by the generous financial support received from the Hudson churches, Hudson-area foundations and Hudson social service organizations, as well as the time, talent and gifts of many caring individuals...
